Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I go over the included tonnage?
Overage is billed at $75/ton. The most common way projects go over is mixing heavy material (concrete, brick, tile) in with lighter general debris in one container — keeping heavy material in its own dumpster keeps the general debris container under its limit. How long can I keep the dumpster?
Rentals include 14 days. Need it longer? It’s $5/day after that — just let us know, no need to guess at the start.
Can I get the wrong size and swap it later?
Yes, call us and we’ll swap it out. But if you’re unsure between two sizes, sizing up is usually cheaper than paying for an extra haul — the difference between a 20 and 30-yard is smaller than the cost of a second delivery.
Is there a deposit?
No deposit — rentals are fully pre-pay, so payment is what gets your delivery on the schedule. The exception is our Contractor Program: eligible accounts go through a credit check for net terms, which skips the prepay requirement entirely.
What if my project generates a lot of concrete or heavy debris?
Concrete, brick, and dirt are heavy relative to volume, so a size that looks right by eye can still hit its weight limit fast. Tell us if your project includes concrete/masonry and we’ll recommend the right container mix instead of one oversized dumpster.

How long can I keep the dumpster?
Every rental includes up to 14 days as standard. Need it longer? Extensions are available at a small daily rate — just let us know before your window closes.
Do I need a permit to place a dumpster?
If it stays entirely on your own property (driveway, yard, job site), a permit typically isn’t required. If it needs to sit on the street or another public right-of-way, most cities require one — see our ROW permit guide for Austin and Denver, or ask us when you book.
What if I’m not sure which size I need?

What happens if I go over the included weight limit?

Can I move the dumpster once it’s placed?
